Allied Milling and Baking is a division of Associated British Foods (ABF) plc, a major international business with a turnover of £8.2bn and close to 100,000 employees working in 44 countries.

The group includes companies whose successful brands and products cover the food sector, retail textiles and speciality ingredients for the food industry - and an increasingly strong presence in advanced research and technology.

In the UK well known ABF brands include: Kingsmill, Twinings, Silver Spoon, Primark, Ovaltine and British Sugar.

Allied Milling and Baking consists of four divisions: Allied Bakeries, Allied Mills, Speedibake and Patak's Breads. It has a turnover of over £500m and employs around 5,500 people.

Allied Bakeries

Allied Bakeries  has a wide customer base and bakes and sells a huge range of bread, rolls, crumpets, muffins and other bakery products.

Allied Bakeries owns a Top 10 UK grocery brand - Kingsmill - as well as a branded portfolio of other well-known household brand names including Allinson, Burgen and Sunblest.

Allied Mills

Allied Mills is the UK's leading flour miller, buying wheat from around the world and processing it at mills in Tilbury, Manchester and Belfast. The mills mainly supply Allied Bakeries, Speedibake and other ABF group businesses as well as selected companies outside the ABF group.

Speedibake

Speedibake is based in Wakefield and Bradford and makes bakery products for the private label, in-store bakery and foodservice sectors. Speedibake products are frozen after production and include garlic bread, jam doughnuts, American muffins and artisan-type breads.

Patak's Bread

Based in Cumbernauld, Patak's Breads makes a wide range of ethnic breads which are sold across a wide range of outlets.
